We have been keeping a close eye on the phases that Gov. Ned Lamont has been implementing and the progress of the re-opening of CT. Even though retail stores and outdoor dining areas were allowed to open this past Wednesday, the re-opening process is far from over. Phase 2 is to tentatively open other venues on June 20, 2020. Outdoor entertainment will be allowed to open in this phase, but with a cap of 50 people.
Gov. Lamont stated that Phase 3 will tentatively begin 4 weeks after that, bringing us to July 18, 2020, at the earliest. He has not announced any details for Phase 4, at this time.
There is a lot of, behind the scenes, preparations that goes into putting on the weekly Monday night cruises. The Mark’s Cruise night crew can not foresee Gov. Lamont allowing outdoor events of our size before September 2020, the end of cruise time.
So, we are making the very difficult decision to not open this year for our 25th year of the cruise.
Please know that we will be starting to plan the 2021 Mark’s Northeast Motorsports Expo soon and will start with our 25th cruise year in June 2021.
We thank you for all your support over the years. We will continue with the Monday VIRTUAL car cruise for now. We know this is not the same, but we can at least have some fun with it.
SEE YOU IN 2021!
